Free Printable Birch Tree Art Prints with Custom Carved Initials

Decorate for winter and lovey-dovey Valentine's Day *without* the pink and purple with this beautiful set of free printable personalized birch tree art prints, with custom carved initials and names, from Remodelaholic.com.

After the Christmas decor comes down (the day after Christmas at my house!) it can be tricky to find the right seasonal decor — what kind of winter decor is right for your style? and when can you add Valentine’s decor into the mix? Well, this month’s Canon collaboration printable is the perfect solution, as it’s both beautiful and simple winter decor AND a perfect nod to Valentine’s Day since you can customize it to feature the ones you love — with carved names on the trunk of the watercolor birch tree!   But it is great as year round decor too!

Decorate for winter and lovey-dovey Valentine's Day *without* the pink and purple with this beautiful set of free printable personalized birch tree art prints, with custom carved initials and names, from Remodelaholic.com.

The first print is an 8×10 size and features the quintessential symbol of love:  carved initials inside a heart.

On the next print, an 11×14 size, you can add up to 8 family member’s or children’s names on the tree trunks.

And then round out the trio with a simple 5×7 handlettered watercolor verse:

To personalize the prints, download the prints here(for personal non-commercial use ONLY). Then, open the PDF files using Acrobat Reader on your computer (not in your web browser) and click in each of the blue text fields to add your text

and then print.

AND GUESS WHAT!

I got a new printer from Canon and I am so excited about it!!  Truly it is so pretty, I just can’t stop looking at it, and if you don’t have a lot of space, it is the perfect fit for just about anywhere!  – and even though it is compact you can still print up to 11 x 14!  (plus it comes in red!!)  The PIXMA TS9020 is more compact than my previous one and the updated design is so modern (stay tuned for a chance to win one yourself soon). The new TS series has four sleek options to choose from, you can find your picture perfect match HERE.

Each print has cut lines included, so for best results, print the 5×7 and 8×10 on standard 8.5×11 paper and the 11×14 on 11×17 paper and then use a craft knife and a metal ruler (like we used for the pennant calendar) to cut along the cut lines. Be sure to use a cutting mat underneath so you don’t cut up your table!

You could mount these prints on boards like we did with these feather prints, hang them on an easy DIY memo board, or frame them — you’ll need one frame each in 5×7, 8×10, and 11×14, and I think these rustic wood frames we found are the perfect complement to the birch tree art prints. The frames are from Hobby Lobby, but there are similar barnwood frames available over on Amazon as well.

These make a great winter decoration grouped on a mantel or shelf — why not add some real birch candles (or safety-conscious battery operated ones) or tealights? or hang the prints on the wall as part of a mini gallery collection, maybe even with one of the winter prints from our seasonal watercolor print set! You could add a large slice of real birch to the ensemble, or pinecones, evergreen sprigs, and a pom pom garland would also be great additions!

Get This Look: Fixer Upper Big Country House Living & Dining Rooms

We’re back today with another ‘Get This Look’ idea from the Fixer Upper Big Country House Living & Dining Rooms! There’s something so cozy and warm about these spaces, especially in the dead of winter!

Let’s dig into the details!

Don’t you just want to curl up by the fireplace on one of those window seats with a good book?!

The dining area is equally as beautiful, combining equal parts chic and casual as is common in rooms Joanna designs. The open space with tall ceilings still feel cozy with those wood beams that add warmth. Because of that height, the gorgeous chandelier takes center stage!

All those wooden French doors let in so much light and allow for gorgeous views to the outdoor entertaining space! The wall-mounted lanterns, typically used in an outdoor setting, help bridge the indoors and outdoors and add additional light and character to the space.

How to Get the Look: Fixer Upper Big Country House Living and Dining Room

Do you love the look as well, but don’t know where to start in your own home? We’ve got some easy to follow tips and have rounded up some nearly identical items from these spaces so you can recreate the look in your own living and dining area!

START WITH A NEUTRAL BASE

The walls are painted a light, warm cream tone accented by white trim around the windows. The stone on the fireplace mimics these two colors, but adds texture to help the space feel anything but flat and lifeless.

ADD WOOD TONES & LEATHER

Natural wood tones add such great warmth to rooms and help inject personality. By layering in several tones of wood from the floors to the beams to the furniture, the space instantly feels homey and cozy rather than cold and stark. The leather furniture adds a masculine vibe to the space and add additional warmth to the Big Country Home.

BUILD COZY LAYERS WITH THE TEXTILES

To keep the wood floors from feeling cold, Joanna added large area rugs. One is full of color and softness and the other is heavy on texture. Both help to group the furniture and make the room feel finished. Layering neutral throw pillows and blankets in the living room help make the leather look cozy rather than cold. Woven place mats and napkins at the table help soften the lines of the solid wood and iron table.

Below, we’ve rounded up similar or identical pieces that Joanna used to create this gorgeous dream kitchen and dining room. Click any of the images below to learn more about each item!

Friday Favorites: French Bench and Colorful Appliances

Jam Stuffed Muffins

Here at Remodelaholic we love all things home decor and DIY, but we also love RECIPES. While we will continue to share our latest and greatest remodeling projects we want to start sharing some really yummy recipes once a week. Enjoy the recipes and know that we are still Remodelaholics.

These jam stuffed muffins are one of my favorite breakfasts. They are really filling and incredibly flavorful and they are really delicious and indulging. I also love that they are easy to make while looking polished and put together. So to say that I’m incredibly in love with this recipe is a total understatement.

Jam Stuffed Muffins also make the best housewarming gift. Just fill a wire basket with a freshly baked batch + some breakfast essentials like a cute mug and a tea towel, wrap it with a nice ribbon and add a card and you are all set. It’s really one of those cases where simple is better. I also love to make them when I have overnight guests or when I’m hosting a little brunch or afternoon get-together.

And can we please talk about the fact that the recipe is a total crowd favorite? I actually mean it! Every single person that tries it, raves about it and either asks for a couple of them to take home or for the recipe, so they are really good!

For me, the real secret is in stuffing the jam. I like to add a lot, because honestly when it comes to jam and explosions of flavor more is better. But it’s a balance since you don’t want all your muffins to be covered in jam while getting baked. So what I do is that I add a layer of batter then scoop some jam and then top it off with extra batter.

And once they are done it’s glaze time. The glaze brings all the flavors together and locks in the moisture + it makes it look straight out of a bakery (actually a million times better), go with swirls, drizzle it over, or create your favorite pattern whichever you choose make sure you are adding enough glaze on top.
