It is easy to throw toiletries in a bag when traveling, but not really organized. Rather than toss them haphazardly into a bag, roll them up with this simple DIY shower roll-up caddy. This simple DIY sewing project takes only a few items of supplies and not too much time. Did I mention that it makes a perfect gift too!
DIY Shower Roll-Up Caddy
Supplies you will need
- Wash Rag
- Matching thread
- Sewing Machine
- 18” of Ribbon
Directions
Step 1:
Measure out 18” of ribbon, cut it, and set it aside. These will be your ties.
Step 2:
Grab the bottom of your wash rag and fold it up about 4” (this is flexible based on what items you intend to include in your roll-up), making sure to keep the sides even and together.
Step 3:
Fold your ribbon in half, and place the folded side about an inch below the top of your wash rag’s folded top (see pic.)
Step 4:
Sew along the edge of the wash rag, keeping the ribbon in place, and the edges even. (see pic)
Step 5:
To sew the other side of the was rag you will need to start sewing from the bottom. (see pic) Sew along the edge of the was rag, until you reach the top of the folded portion.
Step 6:
Lay the items you want to use in your Shower Roll-Up on the wash rag, and use pins to mark on each side – giving you an idea of where to sew in your pouches.
Step 7:
Making the pouches is as simple as sewing a straight line. Remove the pins as needed, and sew a straight line from the top of the folded edge, to the bottom of the rag. To do as shown, repeat twice more.
Step 8:
Place your items inside the pouches, roll up, and then tie the ribbons into a bow. It’s as simple as that!
What a fun and fancy gift idea that can be customized with favorite colors.
