These chocolate berry donuts are the perfect indulgent breakfast to enjoy with friends and family alike.
I'm a huge fan of flavor combinations, things like peanut butter and jelly, coconut and cream, and berries and chocolate make me the happiest. So, obviously, when I'm looking for recipes I always have an eye set on those that combine big flavors together. And breakfasts are not an exception to this rule.
These chocolate berries donuts are one of our family favorite breakfast recipes. They combine all the flavors we know and love while being cozy and welcoming.
They are also a huge crowd favorite which means that we usually find ourselves making it for guests that are staying overnight or for little brunch parties.
Actually, to be completely honest with you, any moment is a good excuse to enjoy chocolate berries donuts so I usually find myself sneaking them for snacks and desserts as well.
And if you are feeling extra festive you can also whip up a batch of them and serve them on a nicely decorated table along with cookies and drinks (a hot chocolate bar is my go to!). Not only is the result visually stunning (trust me on that one!) but it's also a really fun variation from the typical savory food bar, and one that's going to be really welcomed by your guests.
About the berries, I prefer to use frozen ones so this recipe is perfect year long, and while I like to combine things and use raspberries and strawberries you can use one or the other, feel free to also add blueberries or even peaches, and not only in the glaze but also in the batter! The great thing about these Chocolate Berry Donuts is that it's a great base donut recipe that you can later tweak with different fruits and add-ons.
