Hello again! Dawn here, from AD Aesthetic, and I'm back with another mood board for your decoration inspiration. This month, the warmer temps have me dreaming of sun and sand, so a cool coastal moodboard was in order.
Coastal Dining Room Inspiration
Before we dive in, let's take a look at some of the stunning photos I found to inspire us this month:

Tips for Decorating a Coastal Dining Room
Texture
If there's one thing a beachy scene provides, it's texture. From the grit of the sand, to the rough feel of driftwood, to the unique scalloped feel of seashells and the glassy smoothness of water, texture is everywhere. So when creating a coastal inspired room, it's important to let this design element take the lead. In the moodboard above, you'll see texture in the chairs, the smoothness of the glass table top or table lamp, the natural fibers of the jute rug, and the flowing softness of the cotton wall hanging. All of these textures together give the space a layered, collected, and natural feeling that works perfectly for a coastal style.
Color
You would be hard-pressed to find a coastal style space that doesn't use blues in the decor. The combination of unending blue waves rolling into unending blue skies is iconic, and no beach inspired decor would be complete without variations of blue hues incorporated into it. Add in some greens to further emphasize the inspiration of nature, and the coastal vibe begins to shine through.
Neutrals
Aside from cool blue and green tones, neutrals are a must in Coastal decor. From wood tones, to crisp whites and creams, to metallics, they all work together to set a calming scene within the space, as well as to provide a perfect palette for the blues to be the star. Just like the beach to the sea.
So there you have it. How do you feel about coastal decor? Does it have you ready to pack your beach bag yet?
