Hello again Remodelaholics! I’m a bit slow this week — every day this week has felt like an insurance commercial (you know, “life comes at you fast”) but thankfully there’s just been busy and not too much mayhem! We have some great projects to share today in our Friday Favorites and Remodelaholics Anonymous party — be sure to add yours to the link party and tag #imaremodelaholic on Instagram!

Favorite makeover that almost didn’t happen: Noting Grace tried to pass by this vintage rocking chair, but the universe (and the thrift store owner) wouldn’t let her! Read the story and see how it looked before her loving care here.
Favorite bedding: I love colorful bedding, especially for kids rooms, and this pompom quilt paired with the floral comforter is perfection — plus, right now, save 20% and get free shipping with the code LUCKY! I love this super space-smart setup, with the double-duty of a loft bed or bunkbed, but without the bed-making mess of a raised bed. So much love! Favorite table setting: This beautiful tablescape by North Country Nest makes me want to host a fancy Easter dinner!
Favorite reason to get outside: Because once all the tools are nicely organized, doing the actual yard and gardening work won’t be such a chore, right? See how The Handyman’s Daughter built this custom garden tool storage station here.
Favorite show-off: Yes… it’s my own! #humblebrag We are not always the fastest at getting our projects and remodels up here on the blog, but this week we took our Facebook followers on a tour of our beloved Birch House. Watch it here and let us know if you have any questions we can answer! We go live every Wednesday — last week we built a simplified version of our rustic wall bins — you can watch that here — so we’d love to hear what you want to learn or see demonstrated live. (You can sign up for Facebook Live notifications on our page, so you won’t miss our next broadcast!)
Favorite organized space: Our Home Made Easy gave her bathroom linen closet wire shelves a farmhouse style upgrade and doesn’t it look wonderful!
Favorite play house: We’ve built a cottage kitchen playset and then a cottage bunk bed — but this picture makes me want to up our mini cottage building game! Isn’t this amazing? (Photo ©Remodelaholic | Home built by Brinkerhoff Custom Construction)
Favorite green: What’s better than a great affordable DIY building project? A great affordable DIY building project that gets painted a great color! See how Refresh Living built this green potting bench from 2x4s here.
Favorite photo display: I love having family photos around, and Dazzle While Frazzled made this display from an old banister.
Favorite feature: We sat down with Even Par Solutions for a chat, so if you’ve ever wanted to know more about us or why we do what we do, give it a listen!
Favorite dreaming-of-summer spot: I’m always a fan of a great pergola, and I’ve been wanting to add a swing in our yard for ages. Get this tutorial from Single Girls DIY.
Favorite garden: I love having fresh produce from our garden, and I’m getting ready for our garden this year! Stacy’s Savings built this great raised garden bed with fold-down “bunny gates”.
Favorite make-it-your-own projects: Last but not least, our reader Doug sent in two projects inspired by tutorials here on Remodelaholic! (We love seeing your work; send us yours here.) Inspired by our plywood storage box and needing a place to store an artificial Christmas tree, Doug built this sneaky storage console table — the entire tree fits inside, with a faux shelf on top for other storage and a hinged lid for easy access. Smart!
From Doug: “My wife wanted an artificial Christmas tree, but I did not have anywhere I could store it. So inspired by the projects you feature, I kinda came up with my own mixture of the two, along with matching my home goods end tables. I think it worked out nicely, tree fits great under the faux shelf. The specs are 30″ floor to top, box depth of 24″, it is 20″ wide and 63″ in total overall length. It is made from Birch 1/2 ply, pine select board, less knots. I took the specs from the sizing on the box the tree came in and enlarged them some for the extra storage above the tree. It will work out well when putting the tree back up, it will be used for the storage of all the seasonal knick knacks.”
Doug also made a smaller end table version of the double X console table and it looks wonderful! Thanks for sharing, Doug!
