Hello again! Dawn here, from AD Aesthetic, and I'm back with another mood board for your decoration inspiration. This month, I decided to tackle a mood board for a room that sometimes doesn't get as much decor attention— the bathroom. It seems like bathrooms are often the neutral spaces in a home, and specifically, bathroom vanities or cabinets often stick to neutral colors of white or wood tones. So today, I thought it would be fun to branch out and gather some inspiration for using bold color in the bathroom.
Bold Bathroom Color Inspiration
Before we dive in, let's take a look at some of the amazing inspiration photos I found while browsing around the web:
Isn't that just so inspiring? There really is a way to make every color of the rainbow look chic and intentional in a bathroom. With that rainbow of inspiration in mind, here's what I came up with:

Working with colorful cabinetry can seem intimidating, and going bold is definitely not for the feint of heart! Here are some tips on working with bold color if these designs are up your alley.
Tips for Designing Bold Bathroom
Balance – Probably the most important tip for taking on a bold vanity color is to balance out the bright with plenty of neutrals and/or complimentary colors elsewhere in the design. One thing each of the inspiration photos above have in common is the liberal use of white to soften the boldness of the color choices and keep the room from feeling overpowering or clownish.
Accent – While it's important to create a sense of balance in the space with neutral colors, it's also a great idea to bring in a few pieces that tie back to the bold vanity color. Whether it's artwork, linens, or even a fun soap dish, repeating your primary color choice elsewhere in the room helps to keep the vanity from feeling like it's garish, out of place, or sticking out like a sore thumb.
Let the color be the star – My final tip for working with bold color in a small space like the bathroom, is to let the color be the star. Looking back through the inspiration photos, you can see how the visual hierarchy of each automatically lets the bold vanity shine. In other words, if you can, avoid pairing a vivid color of cabinetry with an equally eye catching ornate mirror, or over the top bath mats. While such pairings can work occasionally, it's much more likely that the end result will be a room that's so busy it feels overpowering.
So there you have it. What are your thoughts on bold bathroom color? Are you a fan, or is it a bit much for your taste?
