How to Get the Look: Fixer Upper Chip 2.0 Living Room
Do you love the look as well, but don't know where to start in your own home? We've got some easy to follow tips and have rounded up some nearly identical items from this space so you can recreate the look in your living room!
START WITH WARM WOOD TONES
This room feels cozy and homey because of the warm tones sprinkled throughout. From the natural wood mantle to the hardwood floors to the bench in the entryway, this space exudes warmth! Add in some warm-toned leather chairs and the space instantly feels at home.
LAYER IN SOME TEXTURE
In order to keep the wood tones from falling flat, you need to layer in some texture. This comes in the form of the shaggy rug, the rock fireplace, the birch logs in a wire basket, and many of the textiles. The room instantly feels more cozy because of these elements!
INCORPORATE GREENERY
Greenery adds so much more life to a room. Whether fresh, faux or in the form of a printed botanical, the room instantly feels much more complete with these lively accents. In this instance, Joanna used faux fern stems to add both color and texture to this living room.
ADD IN LARGE-SCALE BLACK & WHITE ARTWORK
This step can be as expensive or inexpensive as you wish. But the most important thing is that you add in artwork that means something to you and your family. If you have a favorite travel image, convert it to black and white and head to your local printer to convert it to a large engineering print at your local Staples or another printer (this can usually be done for under $10). Or, source somewhere like Minted, for really affordable and beautiful large-scale artwork!
