It’s a Jungle in Here…

We just recently made it through kindergarten graduation.  It was cute and the kids worked really hard.  At the end their teacher announced their name, handed them a diploma, and told everyone what they wanted to be when they grow up.  My daughter said she wanted to be a veterinarian.  Which was no surprise to me, she LOVES animals.

After, when we were thanking her teacher- the teacher told me that my daughter's original answer to the question was, “When I grow up I want to be a lady with a lot of cats!!!”

That is right, my daughters true ambition in life is to be the crazy cat lady.  My life is complete!!

Darn peer pressure!!  I wish she hadn't changed her answer last minute, can you imagine how epic that would have been… I can.  And I am crying tears of joy just thinking about it.

Anywho, today in partnership with Rachael Ray™ Nutrish® Indoor Complete Chicken with Lentils & Salmon Recipe  we have fun news to share, we have added a member to our family…

You guessed it a cat!!

Technically another cat, we have two, not quite crazy enough to warrant the Hashtag #crazycatlady…. BUT I do love them like crazy!  And I have a million pictures to prove it.

He is SUCH a dream!

We named him Tiger.

Because our other cat's name is Lily (get it?  Tigerlily…)

There have been a lot of crazy shenanigans going on round here with a new baby cat!

Since we now have two cats, I thought I'd share a few tips we've learned for helping your cats stay happy.

First, we have multiple food bowls, so that they can eat in peace.  Since sometimes, Lily gets majorly offended if Tiger would like to eat near her.  I mean, give a girl some space.

You should have more than one litter box.  Technically you should have one more than the number of cats that share your home.   Also, make sure you have one on each level of the house.  We have three, two in the basement and one upstairs.  If you are having a hard time finding a place to hide your litter box, you need to check out one of our favorite featured tutorials.

You too can turn an old dresser into a litter box cabinet!  The idea is genius!

We have not declawed Tiger, because of how it effects cats long term.  So, it is important to have PLENTY of scratching posts to protect the furniture AND whenever he falls asleep on us we play with his paws, so that he is used to it when we clip just the sharp tips off his little claws!  He doesn't mind at all, and the rest of us are less cut up than when they are sharp!  I am glad it has been an easy transition.

Tell us what are your favorite cat whisperer tips that you should share with us?  Add them to the comments below.
